Custom Cushion
Because of its size, this Custom Cushion needed the buttons to prevent the fabric to be loose - "puckering".
I had made this cushion with a six inches teak foam wrapped with Dacron padding...
The density of the foam was medium density for maximum comfort.

Soft Window Treatments, The Five Towns, Long Island, New York
This window treatment was a bit challenging.
The window was twenty two feet high and I was not allowed to bring a hydraulic scaffold, because the floor would not support
the weight of the scaffold...
I started the installation from the top center to the side, and than continue the stationary panels.
On the windows I had installed Duette shades.

Balloon shades do add a special worm look to the window...
In this case we used a beautiful rich looking fabric that was warm looking and soft at the same time.
I gave it a five inch shirring on the top and stuffed the bottom with soft paper.
I installed it in a way that it will be easy to remove for cleaning.

This Headboard was made without legs...It was mounted on the wall...It is very easy to remove it and put back on...
The way it is mounted to the wall is by using a 4" wood cut at 45 degrees, one on the wall and one on the Headboard.
The buttons on the Headboard are a great add on.
This is an upholstered headboard that was mounted on the wall.
The way it was made was by installing a horizontal 1 by 6
That was cut at 45 degrees on the back of the headboard and another 1 by 6 cut at 45 degrees that was mounted on the wall.
The headboard rest on top of the horizontal 1 by 6.
It is secure and very easy to remove.
I like it...

"Can you upholster the walls in this elevator"? Asked the architect...
The walls inside the elevator were made of metal...
We solved the problem by installing wood strips on the perimeter of the walls...
To provide access for the technician to service the elevator, the back wall needed to be removed easily...
I had to make an upholstered panel that was mounted with Velcro...

How to make an upholstered cornice? you may ask...?
First you measure the window from left to right. The upholstered cornice should be about 4" wider the the window frame.
The dust board should accommodate the window treatment that will fit inside it..
For a duette shade you need 3"
For drapes about 5" got the idea?
You cut 1/2" plywood to size. than you nail the dust board and the two side returns.
Now that you have a cornice board you should staple the padding on the face of the cornice board and then apply the
fabric with staples. Make sure to follow the design of the fabric so it will look presentable.
Good luck

This job was done in a catering hall in New York.
The walls were covered with one inch thick of sound absorbent panels.
Over the panels I had installed a half inch flame retardant Dacron padding.
The third step was to apply the fabric over the padding.
I finished the perimeter with double welt that was made from the same fabric.
